Independent Contractors in the Gig Economy

Companies like Uber, Lyft, and Amazon use what they describe as “independent contractors” for drivers. But are they really independent? Should the companies obtain all the profit of the services and none of the responsibility for using public roadways and in some cases, injuring others? See my article in the WSAJ Trial News.
